Harmony Hall Curator and musician Geoff Welch will play a series of original compositions at Saturday’s Winter Solstice celebration.
The Town of Ramapo and Friends of Harmony Hall invite the public to a free afternoon of music and refreshments at the Jacob Sloat House on December 17 in celebration of Winter Solstice.
Winter Solstice, which officially takes place on December 21, marks the shortest day of the year and longest night in the northern hemisphere.
Enjoy refreshments and music with inspired photography by Geoff Welch, who will be joined by poet Howard Horowitz, Ramapo tribal shaman Cindy Fountain and others. The event is free and open to the public and takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Also, look for the Harmony Hall Holiday Shoppe to pick up items before the Christmas holiday.
A look back at December 4th’s Victorian Holiday….
Former Suffern High School teacher and Village Historian Gardner Watts (seated in middle of photo) took in the recent Victorian Holiday at Harmony Hall, which was the largest and most successful of its kind for the Friends of Harmony Hall. Watts is an elder statement in the community at 102 years old.
Members of the Suffern High School Select Choir sang Christmas carols for guests at Harmony Hall during the recent Victorian Holiday. The Select Choir participated in Sloatsburg’s Annual Tree Lighting & Caroling which saw them sing through Sloatsburg’s village center.
