The fall weather has turned blustery just in time for Halloween.
The Sloatsburg Public Library is cooking up a special treat for kids this coming Thursday, October 27, complete with a spooky cemetery and haunted library. The whole production is once again sponsored by the Friends of the Sloatsburg Library and is free of charge — there will be a donation bucket available for those that want to contribute to the cause. All donations go toward supporting Library programming and activities.
The haunted library fun will be a thoroughly safe and supervised environment and include refreshments.

Last year, the Library’s Community Room haunted spectacle proved popular, with spooky sights and sounds and a dimly lighted room that really did scare. This year, the spooky cemetery will provide milder thrills and chills for the younger crowd while the main event is recommended for kids 8+.
Library staff member Joan Wanamaker has again enlisted the help of special effect maestro and movie-maker Anthony Puglia, along with sculptor Justin Wanamaker.
The haunted house is geared toward tweens and teens and will feature sound effects, spooky music and things that move around in dark corners.
The Haunted Library gets underway at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call the Sloatsburg Library at 845/753-2001 — or join in Thursday evening!
