Members of the Tuxedo Chamber of Commerce got together last week to celebrate the holiday and end of a long business year at the chamber’s annual Holiday Mixer, held at The Tuxedo Junction Inn. The group also announced its newly elected slate of officers.
“2012 was an outstanding year for the Tuxedo business community, and we are looking forward to building into 2013,” said Bill Sweet, who was elected to another term as chamber president. Sweet, part of Stevens & Sweet Financial, has successfully worked to increase the group’s membership and unify the Tuxedo community.
“While many forces can and will divide the greater Tuxedo community, we are proud to be a cause that brings our entire community – including our friends in Sloatsburg, Greenwood Lake, Monroe and beyond – together around a common core belief in the strength of American small business,” Sweet said.
Several members from Sloatsburg took in the mixer, including Stephen Hoefer and Darrell Frasier, who recently opened BackHome Antiques in Tuxedo.
The Tuxedo Junction Inn owner Emily Nicholas, and also the evening’s host, was elected chamber vice president.
Sweet acted as mixer master of ceremonies, generously handing out raffle gifts — many bottles of wine, compliments of Tuxedo Wines & Spirits.
Dale Mottola of Applied Systems Group, and former chamber president, will become the organization’s secretary, while Robert Thompson, with Tuxedo Park Preferred Properties, will continue as the group’s treasurer.
