The Tuxedo Farmers’ Market And Blue Barn Open This Weekend

Posted on 13 June 2014 by Editor

The rain should taper so that Saturday summer can really start when the Tuxedo Farmers’ Market starts back up for its tenth year. And Sloatsburg will see the return of a new and refreshed version of an old village business as the Blue Barn Antiques & Gifts along Rt. 17 in the village center opens for weekend business.

TFMflyerpromoThe Tuxedo Farmers’ Market will celebrate 10 years at the Tuxedo Train Station with new vendors and fresh signage, Dave Dowling, and a special noon ribbon cutting to celebrate one of Tuxedo’s summer long Saturday attractions.

The market is now open Saturdays from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. and will feature locally grown fruits and vegetables, cheeses, honey and maple syrup, candles, soaps, pickles and olives, and a whole range of gourmet goods. For those spicy food lovers, look for hot sauces, salsa and jerky.

Cornell Co-Op will have a Master Gardener tables Saturday to answer all your gardening questions.

For many years, Blue Barn Antiques was a local source for antiques — and the Knoblicks intend to revitalize the entire Waldron property, starting with Blue Barn Antiques & Gifts. The grand opening weekend for Blue Barn will be celebrated Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, with the antique and gift shop open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Henry Knoblick has his own section of the barn filled with a collection of interesting nautical and survey-themed items. A former layout engineer surveyor (among many other things), Knoblick said that he collected lots of things during his years working in New York City – and was also a one-time eBay junkie. The couple hope to make the Blue Barn a center for arts in the village.

Stop by and say hi, if you’re out in central Sloatsburg over the weekend.
