The Suffern Chamber of Commerce has taught itself to do one thing well — put on a street fair that draws people from all over.
After internal debate about the relative success of street fairs and what they might mean in shaping the perception of what people think of Suffern, the Suffern Chamber has decided to go big with street fairs.
Sunday’s Street Fair will close out the stacked and very busy last weekend of April. A second edition of the Street Fair is scheduled for June 1.
Sunday’s Suffern Street Fair & Classic Car Show is projected to feature some 100 vendors who will set up along the old main street — in this case Lafayette Avenue. The whole show kicks off Sunday, April 27, at 10 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m.
Sunday’s weather should be sunny with blue skies peeking through most of the day.
So, think about stretching your legs this Sunday with a walk through Suffern’s central village, where there will be live music and plenty of shopping, food and entertainment. Look for specials from local restaurants.
The Classic Car Show part of the event will provide the opportunity to look over some sleek, antique vehicles and custom modified cool muscle cars. There will also be motorcycles and stacked up trucks on display.
The Suffern Street Fair & Classic Car Show is sponsored by the Suffern Chamber of Commerce and takes place Sunday, April 27, 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. The event is free.
