Summer camp for Sloatsburg students has always been something to look forward to, whether it took place at St. Mary’s Villa or at Sloatsburg Elementary School. Sloatsburg parents and students had a fun, friendly experience to plan for. This year Sloatsburg will not be hosting a Town of Ramapo mini camp. Sloatsburg Elementary School will be under construction with the school set for top to bottom rewiring.

The Sloatsburg Public Library has stepped up with a camp-like experience of its own for Sloatsburgers. Library Director Annmarie McAnany said that she thinks local kids “deserve access to an affordable summer program. So we brainstormed and came up with an exciting alternative to camp. We’re calling it Midweek Madness.”

Midweek Madness is a planned Library program with extra weekly indoor and outdoor activities, events and surprises. From the Bubble Bus and Tumblebus to magic shows, music and crafts, nature programs, and live animal visits such as birds of prey!

Click the image to see registration form! Midweek Madness registration forms can be picked up at the Sloatsburg Library front circulation desk. The SPL needs a minimum of 30 participants to cost-effectively schedule the 6 weeks of extra special summer programming.

The program will provide a camp-like experience at the Library this summer, complete with extra events and activities and weekly guests. Midweek Madness will take place both indoors and outdoors and is set to run Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays,10 a.m. through 1 p.m., from July 2 through August 8.

McAnany stressed that Midweek Madness is separate from the Library’s annual Summer Reading Program.

To pay for counselors and provide these extra events and activities, the cost for Midweek Madness will be $100 per child. The fee will cover all expenses for 6 weeks of programming. There is a minimum of 30 participants needed to cost-effectively schedule Midweek Madness. Register in person at the Library by Friday, April 5, 2019.
