Michael Bruno’s Tuxedo Hudson Co. wins Mid-Hudson Economic Development grant for Sloatsburg/Tuxedo revitalization effort

The Tuxedo Hudson Company was recently awarded a $750,000 Mid-Hudson Economic Development grant for its proposed Tuxedo/Sloatsburg revitalization effort that includes demolishing the old Tuxedo Inn building and a complete renovation of the former IGA into office space and a restaurant.

Sometimes progress can appear in the smaller details. This holiday season Sloatsburg and Tuxedo have vibrant light displays along Route 17 going through the center of the communities. Edith and Henry Knoblick are longtime Sloatsburg residents who invested heavily in revitalizing Sloatsburg’s village center. Back in 2013 the couple purchased the old Waldron property directly across from the Sloatsburg Library with a vision that it could again serve as an important part of life and help spark some downtown renewal. Michael Bruno’s new Tuxedo Hudson Company kicked off a billboard promotion campaign along the Tuxedo/Sloatsburg corridor, announcing that something is coming this way soon. 

The splashy billboards were just raised along Route 17 with a ‘Coming Soon’ message, but the Tuxedo Hudson Company has already made a local impact in Tuxedo and Sloatsburg.

Michael Bruno’s new lifestyle company has captured the trail town vibe by announcing a new gateway community adventure for this area that might include everything from a company store in downtown Tuxedo to dining, antiquing and the sporting life. Continue Reading
