Suffern Installs New Village Walking Loop To Promote Fitness

Dominick Ferrara, owner of Rocco’s Shoe Repair in Suffern, works his magic. The narrow store on Lafayette Avenue has been in business some 65 years.

Rocco’s Shoe Repair has been on Lafayette Avenue, Suffern’s Main Street, since 1952. Owner Dominick Ferrara can be found most days in the narrow store surrounded by leather shoes, some repaired, others waiting their turn. Continue Reading

Shoot and score – Suffern High School Senior and Sloatsburger tops 1000 career points and counting

Sloatsburger and Suffern High School senior Kevin Jefferson just topped 1000 career points in a recent Mountie basketball win over Clarkstown South. Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright congratulated Jefferson’s winning effort, giving a bit of game night color commentary of the occasion in a letter to Sloatsburg Elementary School Principal Mr. Joseph Lloyd, present and past teachers, schools, staff, and students.
