Part One of a two-part editorial that will, hopefully, provide incentive for residents to seriously prioritize improvements on Route 17 through Sloatsburg, and think about more than just a repaved road, a few curbs and a couple of stretches of new sidewalk.

Seven Lakes Station craft beer taproom in Sloatsburg continues to thrive

The little teal-colored taproom in Sloatsburg, NY, opened to much fanfare and excitement and late summer 2016. Village regulars and visitors quickly took to the spot like a shady oasis in the desert dunes.

Michael Bruno’s Tuxedo Hudson Co. wins Mid-Hudson Economic Development grant for Sloatsburg/Tuxedo revitalization effort

The Tuxedo Hudson Company was recently awarded a $750,000 Mid-Hudson Economic Development grant for its proposed Tuxedo/Sloatsburg revitalization effort that includes demolishing the old Tuxedo Inn building and a complete renovation of the former IGA into office space and a restaurant.

Sometimes progress can appear in the smaller details. This holiday season Sloatsburg and Tuxedo have vibrant light displays along Route 17 going through the center of the communities.
