Suffern Girls Make History, Win State Volleyball Title

Suffern High School continued its athletic excellence as the girls volleyball team finally climbed the mountain in Glen Falls, NY over the weekend to claim a Class AA State Championship. Led by senior Samantha Uline, the Mounties played rival Penfield and this time captured the title Sunday, November 17. Continue Reading

Suffern Moves Orange Avenue Decision To Mid-October Board Meeting

The Village of Suffern postponed its regular board meeting until Tuesday, October 14. The Suffern board is set to make a board determination on a zone change related to the Orange Avenue development project that, if green lighted, would see a 91-unit luxury rental apartment building on the site of the current dilapidated Hotel Lafayette. As the school year winds down for students, there are new faces and old who are being celebrated, along with other changes afoot in the Ramapo Central School District. Sloatsburg Elementary School and Cherry Lane Elementary School each get new principals next year, with SES Principal Eric Baird moving to Cherry Lane and Joseph Lloyd due to become Sloatsburg’s new principal.
