With Suffern High School sports teams getting top rankings in a recent Rockland County coaches poll, it’s that time of year again for physicals and to get recertified.
Sports physicals and recertifications for fall high school sports begin at Suffern High School, starting Wednesday, August 14.
To recertify, athletes must have had a physical within the past year that was certified by the school doctor. Athletes who intend to participate in high school sports must report to the Suffern High School Nurses’ Office during their sports’ designated recertification session with a completed emergency card. A short on-site questionnaire will also be given to students.
Suffern High School athletics team garnered five of the top ten spots in an annual ranking of Rockland County’s top 25 varsity sports programs produced by Tom Doherty, President of the Rockland County Coaches’ Association.
“Having so many teams recognized among the best sports programs in Rockland County is an honor we can all be proud of,” noted Suffern High School Athletic Director Andy Guccione. “These rankings serve as a testament to the outstanding devotion and work ethic of our student-athletes, as well as the leadership of our teaching and coaching staff.”

#1 – Girls Spring Track & Field
#5 – Girls Cross Country
