The sky turned blue Sunday and temperatures climbed for the annual Suffern Street Fair. The Crafts & Drafts collection of craft booths, local restaurants and Beer Garden drew a curious crowd that drifted along Suffern’s Lafayette and Washington Avenues.
Sponsored by the Suffern Chamber of Commerce, the Street Fair saw a strong showing from the Ramapo Central School District which had booths from a number of schools. The Suffern Fire Department kicked the day off by sponsoring a morning breakfast in the Beer Garden from 10 a.m. to noon.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day also made a visit, meeting with the Suffern Robotics team — with a Suffern Robotics team off to the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship Robotics Competition in St. Louis, MO this week, from April 26-29. Local support has helped send the team to compete at this elite event.
Sloatsburg Elementary School Principal Dr. Joe Lloyd also visited the Robotics team.
