This past Wednesday, December 23, Senator Carlucci visited the Library to deliver a new American flag to via the Senator’s “Operation Raise the Flag” program which collects old and damaged flags throughout the district and replaces them with colorful new ones.
Surrounded by Library Trustees, staff and Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright, Senator Carlucci handed McAnany a new flag during the ceremony.

Sloatsburg Library Trustee Darrell Frasier and McAnany visited Senator Calucci in Albany in March, along with other NY legislators, to advocate for local library issues and funding opportunities. The visit came after Sloatsburg qualified as an emergency shelter — if it only had a generator. The senator’s office directed the Library toward helpful grant opportunities and a scheduled delivered a the Library’s new emergency shelter generator is expected any day now.
The Senator’s office has been a helpful advocated for the Village with the NY Department of Transportation regarding a traffic study of Rt. 17 and the Village Center which includes a proposed crosswalk at Rt. 17 and 1 Liberty Rock Road at the Library.
Sloatsburg recently fetted veterans for the holidays with the second in a series of dinner gift baskets. The December 19 veterans holiday food giveaway included a Christmas Turkey with fixins. The Sloatsburg Volunteer Fire Department pitched in along with the Veterans Angels Association, a Rockland County group that helps provide holiday meals for the veteran community and assists provides PTSD, Mobility Assistance Service dogs for Veterans of the US Armed Forces.
