Sign up now and get your spring clean on Saturday, May 18, when yards and garages unite in common cause. Pitch in when the Sloatsburg Scholarship Fund hosts a “Town Wide” garage sale. Register now and be included in the official Garage Sale Directory that lists all village wide sale locations, with maps and items of special interest.
The Sloatsburg Scholarship Fund works as a local non-profit that thinks up bright ideas to help raise money for Sloatsburg student scholarships. The Garage Sale directory registration fee $15, with proceeds put toward local scholarships. Participate by signing up for the Garage Sale directory, then join in during the village wide sale. SSF will do the rest. Pay it forward and lighten the load all at once.
SSF scholarships range from graduating 5th graders at Sloatsburg Elementary School to Suffern High School seniors and other Ramapo Central students. Elementary award winners are notable kids who cultivate and articulate a unique educational awareness. Student winners are selected by teachers and scholarship sponsors. The other Sloatsburg students awarded are selected by the SSF committee itself (information on the various high school scholarships available here).
The Sloatsburg Scholarship Fund seeks to help offset the many costs encountered by students when first getting off to college.
“Town Wide” Garage Sale directories will be available free at Hayward’s Deli and Sterlington Station the day of the event — all day, Saturday, May 18. The Garage Sale runs Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. and will be promoted in print, online and through local businesses. First sign up. And then set up for the sale.
