Friday was Spirit Day at Suffern High School, with many students dressed their spirited best. The Mountie football team didn’t fare well in its Friday night homecoming game under the lights, losing to Marmaroneck, but there’s always the Homecoming Dance Saturday night.

It’s Famers’ Market Saturday today, with both Tuxedo and Suffern alive with vendors through the early afternoon. The Peg’s Eggs & Honey stand at the Tuxedo Train Station now has chicken sausage and bacon — go on and sizzle some up. Suffern says, order your tarts and pies today. The Suffern Farmers’ Market will be at the Commuter Lot until 1 p.m. while the farmers’ market in Tuxedo takes place at the Tuxedo Train Station lot until 2 p.m. The Sloatsburg Public Library hosts a double literary event Saturday afternoon. Drop in at 2 p.m. to meet children’s author Stephanie Gutzman. Self-publishing expert Ron Pramschufer takes the stage at 3 p.m. to give great tips on how to get yourself published. And the Suffern High School Girls Cross Country team is on the road today. Wish them luck.
