Memorial Day parades across Rockland County ran into rain Monday morning, experiencing lots of cancellations. But the Village of Sloatsburg carried on by holding its annual Memorial Day celebration at the Sloatsburg Fire Hall.
Many turned out, including the Suffern High School Marching Band and featured speaker Colonel David R. Siry, a professor of American and military history at West Point.
The Village of Suffern also cancelled its annual Memorial Day parade, opting to hold a mid-morning ceremony at the American Legion on Pavilion Road in Suffern.
