While the impending snowmageddon of nor’easter Juno slowly makes its way to Rockland County, even New Jersey Transit will shut down rail service at 10 p.m. Monday night, January 26, with the last departures at 8 p.m.
Service is not expected to resume until Thursday morning.

Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright said that the Sloatsburg Ambulance Corp will be open to the public through 6 p.m. Thursday, January 29, if any residents need a place to go should there be a power outage or other emergency. Additionally, Mayor Wright said that the Sloatsburg Fire Department is on standby to assist in any and all emergencies. The Ramapo Police Department has also added personnel to meet the needs of the communty.

Mayor Wright reminded residents that the Sloatsburg Department of Public Works will be out working to clear roads during and after the snow storm, working in hazardous conditions. The Mayor stressed that residents should avoid parking along the should of village roads.
