Residents around Sloatsburg set up Saturday for the annual Village Wide Garage Sale. Don’t mind the cloudy skies.

Sloatsburg Scholarship Fund yard sale maps can be picked up at Hayward’s Deli, the Sloatsburg Library, Sterlington Station, and Jessie’s Bagels — maps list of items and locations for the 30 yard and garage sale sites around the village.

villagewidesale2014The day long sale is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. and raises fund for the Sloatsburg Scholarship Fund, a local non-profit organization that sponsors scholarships specifically for Sloatsburg students.

Scholarship Fund President Annmarie McAnany said that more than 30 Sloatsburg residents paid the $15 registration fee to enter the community yard sale — and all will be included in the special program map that details items and locations  of different sales throughout the village. All proceeds from the event registration fee go towards funding Sloatsburg scholarships.

librarybooksale2015The Friends of the Sloatsburg Library host their annual Spring Book Fair on Saturday, May 16, from 10am to 4pm.

The Book Sale takes place at the Library during the Village Wide Garage Sale.

The Friends of the Sloatsburg Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the library’s mission through fundraising efforts and community outreach activities. Your support of the Friends allows the library to offer programs and materials that might not otherwise be possible. From the annual winter Holiday Boutique to the Spring Book Sale, the Friends raise funds that expand, develop and strengthen library services and programs.

the Sloatsburg Scholarship Fund supports local scholarships that range from graduating 5th graders at Sloatsburg Elementary School to Suffern High School seniors, as well as other other Ramapo Central students, and award nominal amounts that go to help offset the initial costs of higher education.

The winning high school students will receive their awards at the annual Evening of Excellence awards dinner and ceremony that takes place at the William L. Ransom auditorium at Suffern High School.
