Sloatsburgers Martijn Mollet and Jamie Lovelace have been slowly putting together the finishing touches on their teal-colored Village center taproom and market. And have made good on their desired deadline of opening while there’s still a summer breeze.
Seven Lakes Station opened this weekend, Setpember 17 and 18, right on time for the full Harvest Moon and just as the summer season slides into autumn, with hints of chill at night. The opening coincides with Sunday’s, September 18, Harmony Hall Bluegrass Festival.
The Bluegrass Festival will go off, complete with roomy tents, come rain or shine. So, you know where to get to on Sunday. That event is free with a recommended donation to help out the Jacob Sloat House.
Seven Lakes will open at 11 a.m. most days.
The local taproom will feature an assortment of New York state beers, with a mix of Connecticut and Vermont craft beers also available. The taproom and market will offer rotating regional beers on tap with growlers to go, serve area wines and have cans and plenty of other craft beer available for sale.
Mollet and Lovelace have lovingly built Seven Lakes into what they hope becomes a popular Sloatsburg stopover for thirsty locals, hikers and bikers. The duo also hope to feature local arts and crafts, music and eventually offer a menu of light fair.
Get ready to make it your craft beer place to just grab and go.
Mollet said that the idea is to have 8 to 10 different regional beers on tap with growlers to go. And, of course, there will always be a special Belgian brew on hand. Seven Lakes Station will also serve area wines and have cans and plenty of other craft beer available for sale in the house market.
Seven Lakes Station is located at 80 Orange Turnpike (Route 17), across from the Sloatsburg Library. Call (845) 712-5586 after 11 a.m. for more information.
