The packed parking lot in front of the rambling white house across from the Sloatsburg Public Library meant another senior success. More than 40 people gathered on December 1 to take part in one of the popular Sloatsburg Senior Center’s outings. This particular event was the annual year-end holiday trip and included people from Sloatsburg as well as members of the Suffern and Ramapo senior groups. The destination was Staten Island and a day of dining, dance and song.
Located on Liberty Rock Road, the Sloatsburg Senior Center actively engages in issues related to senior health and well-being. The Liberty Rock organization keeps a very active calendar. Open to Sloatsburg residents 55 and over, the organization holds meetings every Wednesday at 1 p.m. Funded in part by member dues, the group also receives ample support from the Village of Sloatsburg.
