Michele Zeidman

On behalf of the Village of Sloatsburg, it is an honor and privilege to extend congratulations to you upon your retirement after 30 years of dedicated and unselfish service to the children of the Sloatsburg Elementary School.  

There is no job title that could actually describe and explain your duties and responsibilities as you excelled in many different roles on a daily basis.

You were the valued and trusted assistant to three principals – Mr. James Hoffman, Mr. Ron Anagnostis, and Mr. Eric Baird.  Your knowledge and input were constantly sought.  To the faculty, you were a mentor and a resource person.   To the parents, you were the face of the school; for it was you who had the greatest contact with the entire community on a regular basis. 

During your tenure it was your relationship with the children that was most important.  To them you were an extension of their family.  You were there from the first day they entered kindergarten to the day of elementary graduation.  You watched them grow, learn, play and develop into confident middle school students.  You helped students with a number of requests.  You wiped away tears, gave hugs when needed, a pat on the back when required, and always offered encouragement.  

It is evident to all that you are a loving, caring and outgoing individual who constantly displayed deep affection for the children.  All students deserve to have someone like you in their daily lives. 

You have impacted the lives of hundreds and hundreds of students.  You have also provided them with treasured memories of the years they attended Sloatsburg Elementary School.  They were blessed and most fortunate to have spent these formative years with someone of your integrity, intellect, concern and interest in their well-being. 

Michele Zeidman is an exceptional person — an outstanding member of our community. As such, by the authority vested in me as Mayor, I hereby declare Friday, June 27^th, 2014 as Michele Zeidman Day in the Village of Sloatsburg.
