Meals on Wheels Rockland used the outreach afternoon to sign up folks for meals and services the agency provides. Even on a hot day such as Tuesday, a good bowl of soup not only helps with hunger but soothes the spirit. The agency served up some 40 bowls of soup and helped sign up two homebound meal clients.
The day turned out to be very generous for Meals On Wheels Rockland as the agency learned that it received a Community Development Block Grant for $10,000 for its Homebound Delivery Program from the Rockland County Department of Community Development. Meals on Wheels Rockland is a non-profit that has been serving the hungry in Rockland for some 30 years through its senior center and homebound seniors meal programs throughout the county, as well as providing other nutritional, recreational and social support efforts such as the MOW Adult Learning Center programs.
We are a recipient of a Community Development Block Grant for our Homebound Delivery Program! Thanks Rockland Office CommunityDevelopment!
