It’s the little things that make the world go round sometimes like receiving flowers unexpectantly or even a letter from your local mayor.

Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright is known throughout the community for his meticulous, practically omniscient awareness of all things Sloatsburg.

Recent SUNY New Paltz graduate Heather Barr, from Sloatsburg, was at the receiving end of one of Mayor Wright’s letters of congratulations. And Barr appeared pretty psyched to get the personal letter of from Mayor Wright regarding her summer internship at the Rockland County Times.

Barr tweeted her appreciation on Twitter: “Hours later and I still can’t get over the letter the mayor of @Sloatsburgny sent me. The. Cutest.”

And Town of Ramapo Councilman Daniel Friedman responded, tweeting back back to Barr, “Local gov at its best- Ramapo is proud too! ”

So, kudos to Mayor Wright as his quiet diplomacy certainly seemed to do the trick.
