Call it a jet stream jam. Or perhaps it’s the tears of Sol. In any case, keep those helmets securely fastened as the current Heat Dome that’s overing over the Hudson Valley, and most of the United States, is due to continue into the coming week. The weather pattern is expected to break in a cacophony of stormy skies at week’s end.
Temperatures in the Hudson Valley should stagger along in the low to mid 90s through Thursday. The Heat Dome is caused by the Jet Stream in Canada passing across the Canada/U.S. border, which is preventing cooler norther air from pushing southward.

Meanwhile, Rockland County Executive Ed Day announced a Stage II water county emergency due to the drought.

The restrictions feature odd/even day lawn watering — odd number residents can water on Mondays and Thursdays/even number houses Tuesdays and Fridays, between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. for automatic, in-ground irrigation systems OR between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. for manual sprinklers or hose fed irrigation.
