You know the saying, get fit for life. Well, studies do indicate that if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it — which includes muscle elasticity and general mobility.
The Village of Suffern wants to help residents with its general wellness program, featuring a Walking Club. The village just announced dates for spring, which involves both morning and evening walks around its recently installed community walking loop that wraps around the village downtown area.
Look for the big green footprint signs attached to other roadway signs and you know you’re walking the right way.
Suffern collaborated with Good Samaritan Hospital and the Rockland County Health Department last spring on the 1.3 mile walking path project.
The Suffern Walking Club will hold Wednesday morning 10 a.m. walks in April on the 4, 11,18, and 25. Evening walks take place in May at 6 p.m. on the 2, 9, 16, and 23.
The Walking Club is free and open to all will meet outside Suffern Village Hall at 61 Washington Avenue on the day and time of the planned walk. Mothers and strollers are invited, as are seniors, dads, and family and friends.
