Bill Demarest reports on local Hudson Valley happenings through his site, Nyack Free Press. Demarest caught the Monday morning driving blues action in Tuxedo when a dump truck flipped over and spilled its gravel load. Not a good way to start your week.
TUXEDO – An overturned heavy dump truck snarled traffic on Route 17 this morning just after heavy drive time traffic, spilling a load of gravel across Rt. 17 and causing traffic delays.
The truck from AJM Trucking in Mahwah, NJ, crashed on Route 17 at Arden Valley Road, spilling chunks of large gravel onto the roadway. Some liquids from the truck also spilled onto the road.
The cab of the truck was damaged in the accident and heavy-lift equipment was needed to get the truck back on its wheels.
Tuxedo police called in New York State Department of Transportation and heavy lift crews to assist with the accident clean up.
