For some the dog days of summer have already arrived. But for the Friends of Harmony Hall, August will feature the real deal when the group hosts its annual Dog Days of Summer Community Yard Sale and Flea Market on the old Jacob Sloat House Great Lawn.
The popular Dog Days sale is a fundraiser for Harmony Hall and an opportunity for local vendors and residents to gather their belongings and pitch a table to sale everything from handmade clothes and crafts to historical items and foods.
The event was the brainchild of Sloatsburgers Alison Harvey and Village Historian Harrison Bush, friends who are active in helping with the restoration of Harmony Hall.
The Friends of Harmony Hall are currently recruiting those interested in having a table at the event. Anyone interested can call Alison at 845-753-5767 — 10’x10′ spaces go for $25.
The popular all-day yard sale is scheduled for Harmony Hall’s Great Lawn, which is located in Sloatsburg at the Jacob Sloat House. The event takes place Saturday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with a rain date scheduled for Sunday, August 10).
The Friends of Harmony Hall is a local non-profit organization that works in partnership with the Town of Ramapo and are dedicated to the preservation of Harmony Hall. The Friend group support arts, cultural and historical programs that capitalize upon the benefits of the historic preservation effort, and promotes the rich and varied history of New York’s magnificent Ramapo River Pass and Highlands.
