Although the sun’s been hiding behind a cloudy sky for the last few days, don’t let that stop you. Saturday’s Fall Festival at the Sloatsburg Library promises all sorts of family fun, complete with an Open House and live music from the Hip Replacements.
Don’t worry about the weather, the Library will have you covered and News 12 weatherman Bryson Van Eck promised it shouldn’t rain!
@Sloatsburgny Not a washout this weekend. Widely scattered drops. Brisk and cool with lots of clouds

The folks at the Library have been working overtime to showcase the many improvements, big and small, the staff has been working on since way before spring.
Library Manager Annmarie McAnany has become a savvy procurer of grant funding for important projects.
One of only 11 libraries in the 47 member Ramapo Catskills Library System to receive a New York State construction grant this year, SPL and McAnany have put the funds to good use. The construction grant has paid for the restoration of the Chapel room’s new wood plank flooring, fresh paint throughout the library, redesigned shelving, a quiet room, and renovated bathrooms.
A brand new top secret colorful and thematic teen room is set for unveiling at Saturday’s Open House. The perfect study hangout for students who want their own space.
The new and improved Sloatsburg Library also features computer stations, a Keurig coffee cafe and Chapel room with patron study and reading lounge.
Saturday’s Fall Festival includes food and craft vendors, some 42 pumpkins ready for decorating by kids and other tricks and treats.
While you’re at it, you can walk across the street and visit the Blue Barn farm stand or Seven Lakes Station for a taste of craft beer.
