Suffern High School’s John Wagner Exits Stage Left

Suffern High School musicians performed their last concert of the school year Wednesday night, June 6, with a special celebration for retiring Music Department chair and band teacher John Wagner. Wagner has been at Suffern 32 years, 13 of them as department chair, and has helped to develop the school’s music program into a high-level, multi-discipline musical education juggernaut. The Right Man For Changing Times

Douglas Adams has finally settled into the Ramapo School District, recently moving to a house in Montebello with his wife, Lisa, who is originally from Hillburn. A year ago this May, the Ramapo Central School Board hired Adams away from a smaller school district outside Little Rock, Arkansas to lead the Ramapo Central school system. Bingo At Sloatsburg Elementary School

Suffern Sings Sondheim

Suffern High School students will entertain a bloody mess for the spring musical, due on stage at the end of March 2012. Set to perform Stephen Sondheim’s classic Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, the large cast should provide a fun evening of theater. Auditions were finished last week and the final cast is complete, with David Stedge set to play the Demon Barber Sweeney Todd and Julia Castle playing Mrs. Lovett. A nice twist in casting has Daniela Feingold taking on the role of young Tobias Ragg, traditionally a male role. Benjamin Stevens and Victoria Trifiletti are cast as star-crossed lovers Anthony and Johanna. Continue Reading
