The Town of Tuxedo invites residents to Powerhouse Park Saturday to celebrate with an annual bonfire blaze.
Note: The Bonfire Blaze event has been postponed with a new date yet to be set. The impending high winds and arctic temperatures blowing through this weekend are responsible for the cancellation.
With a pause in the recent winter weather, Tuxedo will celebrate community Saturday night by hosting the annual Night Brightening Blaze Bonfire at Powerhouse Park. Continue Reading

Recent Suffern Village Board meeting with yellow shirts in support of DPW workers looking for overtime pay. Suffern’s cash on hand problem made it necessary for the village to seek a bridge loan through the end of its fiscal year.
The Suffern Village Hall parking lot was filled to capacity Wednesday night, with the village auditorium itself populated by yellow shirts showing support for the Department of Public Work. What followed at Suffern Village Board meeting was a study in local politics, civic history and a lesson in how to skate across the old municipal bankruptcy pond, whistling all the while and hoping that the ice will hold. The big snow dump expected from the Nor’Easter Juno didn’t quite reach Rockland County. Although New York City practically shut down Monday evening in preparation for what some considered a possible historic storm, the wind and snow bands of the storm did manage to drop more than a foot of snow in northern Long Island.
