Some people in Pine Grove Lakes felt the blast Friday afternoon. Mid day there was a low loud bang – such as a big tree falling nearby – that reverberated throughout the neighborhood, from the low flatlands to higher up by Pine Grove Lake itself. Characters Restaurant and Bar will donate 15% of the cost of all dine in or take out meals after 4 p.m. on May 6 to the Scholarship Fund, which fundraises on behalf of various scholarships for Sloatsburg students. Continue Reading

With Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day on the horizon, the Sloatsburg Library has a few fun events planned. The library’s recent website launch party was a well-attended success thanks to the many local library lovers who made a showing. The site’s nifty calendar event listings, powered by Constant Contact, allows patrons to sign up and register for events with just a click.
