If it’s on the Village Board agenda, then it must be official.
The Sloatsburg Village Board met Tuesday evening, with two particular agenda items of interest for many village residents. The Pine Grove Sewer Project is officially scheduled to go to bid in August. The Rockland County Sewer District 1 project is then expected to break ground sometime in November, with the construction work expected to last one year. Continue Reading

Mayor Carl Wright welcomed a new Sloatsburg Public Library Trustee on board last week.

The sun rose this Summer Solstice, splashing the sky in color. And that means the longest day of the year will unwind today.

It’s Summer Solstice weekend and school’s officially out for the summer, too.
The Sloatsburg Community Pool regular summer hours begins Saturday, June 22, with the the pool staying open until 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday through Thursday the pool stays open until 8 p.m.

Dressed in his finest charcoal suit and bangs gelled to a stylish peak, young Frankie Tinelli hit the ground running Tuesday as Honorary Mayor for a Day in Suffern.
“Knowing that I’m actually mayor for a day, it was fantastic,” said Frankie in his first big official TV news interview with News12 reporter Ty Millburn.

The clink and clank of shovels could be heard early morning in parts of Sloatsburg Tuesday as the Department of Public Works continued its spring effort to patch worn roads.
Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright said at Tuesday’s board meeting that the village was “taking a beating” from residents on local road conditions and patchy sewer information due to sporadic Rockland Sewer District 1 public communication about scheduled work.
