Cub Scout Pack 46 Visits Battleship Cove

Cub Scout Pack 46 all onboard during a recent outing to Battleship Cove, MA.

Cub Scouts from local Pack 46 recently took a trip to Massachusetts for an overnight adventure onboard a battleship.

scoutsonship4Cub Scout Pack 46 of Tuxedo and Sloatsburg, NY recently visited Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA, to explore the world’s largest collection of historic naval ships. The scouts had a full tour of duty as they visited the battleship USS Massachusetts, the destroyer Joseph P. Kennedy Jr, and the submarine Lionfish, as well as several other ships in the cove. The annual Thanksgiving Day football game has entered the pantheon of American holiday activities. Lawn football games are a tradition that play out on campuses, in neighborhoods and parks all across the country. Geoff Welch was on hand when a collection of  Sloatsburg sons got together during Thursday morning’s chill to play a spirited game of football on the adjoining Lawns of Harmony Hall and the Sloatsburg Public Library. Holidays Arrive With The Weather

For some 60 years now, the Sloatsburg American Legion Post No. 1643 has partnered with other veteran groups and organizations — most recently with the Sloatsburg Volunteer Fire Department — to drive a little holiday cheer throughout the village.
