The long abandoned Sloatsburg post office along Route 17 is in the process of a revival as Valley Rock Inn & Market has moved in to fix the building up.
The building is composed of two main stores fronts that Valley Rock has taken over, complete with VRI signature decorative hedges along the back parking lot. The old post office will soon house a fitness center with weight room and cardio room that will also offer spin and yoga classes.
But this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19, VRI will host an antiques and home sale that benefits the Tuxedo Park Library — part of the Valley Inn’s recent effort to support local businesses and causes throughout the corridor.
The Sammann family from Tuxedo Park has generously donated most of the pieces in the sale, after the recent sale of their historic home by Tuxedo Hudson Realty. Pieces available include interesting tables, chairs, leather sofa pieces, and desks.
Pies Pies Pies
The Valley Rock Inn market features a pie sale over the weekend that will benefit Harmony Hall in Sloatsburg. Dessert goods from Nobel Pies, including small and and dinner pies, will be on sale — with the purchase of any large pie, Valley Rock will donate 50% of the proceeds to the Friends of Harmony Hall.
