There are spooky sights and sounds in store for kids in Sloatsburg Thursday evening. Call it the dimly lit room. Call it the Haunted Library. Folks from the Friends of the Sloatsburg Library are presenting an evening of Halloween-related Haunted Happenings, part of which is converting the Library’s Community Room into bump and knock scary room.
The Library will light up Thursday, starting with a special kids-centric Storytime and crafts at 6 p.m. And then, for the bigger kids, there will be a Haunted Library at 7:30 p.m.
Anthony Puglia and Justin Wanamaker are the brilliant minds behind the haunted house.
The haunted house is geared toward tweens and teens and will feature sound effects, spooky music and a few things that move around in dark corners.
Haunted Library participants are encouraged to come in a costume — if you dare.
The special haunted story time is geared for kids 5-10 years old and involves several fun stories, a game of pin-the-wing-on-the-bat, crafts, and delicious treats.
The haunted house gets underway at 7:30 p.m., when the the Library’s Community Room will turn into a spooky environment aimed at giving tweens and teens a good scare. There’ll be haunting sound effects, weird music and maybe even something strange moving in that dark corner.
Auntie El’s, Pennings Farms and Home Depot have generously donated to the Haunted Library for the fun, with refreshments served, including cider and donuts.
All activities and haunted fun will be thoroughly safe and supervised.
Just call the Sloatsburg Library at 845/753-2001 or register — or join in Thursday evening!
