Oh what a beautiful Tuesday. The morning icy snow has melted and the temperature feels downright balmy. But something wicked this way comes, according to the weather services.

Snow & ice storm on its way
A “significant winter storm” is predicted for the Lower Hudson Valley by various weather services, including the National Weather Service. Beginning after midnight and into Wednesday, weather services are anticipating snow and a wintry mix of freezing rain, and sleet that should become all snow by Wednesday afternoon.
Overnight winds may reach 30 mph, with temperatures fluctuating from the teens to the low 30s..
Morning ice is expected to be a major road hazard, with snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 7 inches.
All of Rockland County will be affected by the winter weather.
Orange and Rockland has already declared a company-wide storm watch. The predicted icing could be a major hazard for power lines and tree fall damage.
Suffern sends out alert
Snow parking regulations are in effect for the Village of Suffern from Tuesday night at 10 p.m. through Wednesday. All parked vehicles must be removed from village roadways during that time.
Additionally, as a reminder, local Suffern law #235 prohibits snow being placed in the roadways by private plows and by citizens shoveling and using snowblowers. Due to the amount of recent, and anticipated snow, the village reminds residents to please adhere and obey the village provision.

Ramapo Central Superintendent Dr. Douglas Adams has sent out via the district’s blackboard email a notice to parents regarding the “impact of school closings on our School District calendar for the current school year.”
As of Tuesday, February 4, inclement weather has forced the closing of schools on two days. As a result, the district school schedule has been adjusted.
Schools will now be in session on April 22 and May 27.
Additionally, if schools are closed for 1 additional day, May 22 will become a regular session day.
If school are closed for 2 additional days, May 22 and May 23 (in that order) become regular session days.
If schools are closed for 3 additional days: May 22, May 23, and April 21 (in that order) become regular session days.
