Things going on Memorial Day Weekend

Posted on 25 May 2018 by Editor

The  Memorial Day weekend comes fast and festive in these parts. From weekend pool openings to the local carnival and main street marches, life along Route 17 will be alive with activity.

The annual Sloatsburg Carnival continues this weekend during the afternoon and evening hours at the Community Fields with the entrance located at Route 17 and Eagle Valley Road. It’s a free event but wristbands of some sort run $25 which gets you the carnival package.

The united St. Joan of Arc Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Churches with a Sunday night fireworks finale Sloatsburg Carnival set for the Sloatsburg Community Fields on Sunday.

There are parades in Tuxedo, Sloatsburg and Suffern Monday morning that extend into afternoon community get togethers.

Tuxedo will have near all-day community events beginning with morning Memorial Day ceremonies, a parade and afternoon community day at the Tuxedo Park Library directly across from the fabulous Tuxedo Train Station.

While Suffern has a morning of activities, including the annual parade down Lafayette Street, a partnership between the Suffern Chamber of Commerce and village.
