The dark, heavy skies have apparently rained and moved on, leaving sunny blue for the rest of the Memorial Day weekend.
The Village of Sloatsburg will be out celebrating not only the holiday but the village’s 85th birthday, as the village has joined with St. Joan of Arc Church to close out this year’s carnival with a bang. St. Joan and Sloatsburg have partnered to put on a planned good old fashioned fireworks display at the Sloatsburg Community Fields. Fireworks are planned for 9 p.m. Continue Reading

Some people in Pine Grove Lakes felt the blast Friday afternoon. Mid day there was a low loud bang – such as a big tree falling nearby – that reverberated throughout the neighborhood, from the low flatlands to higher up by Pine Grove Lake itself.
